How will you describe when you visit Tai O? Fish village? Reminiscent of the old Hong Kong? In fact, the over-the-water stilts helped to preserve close relationships between neighborhoods, like supporting Tai O history from time to time. Hence, do you know anything about Yi O?

On this field trip, we went to Yi O farm, which was located at Yi O San Tsuen, and experienced to be a farmer. During the process of harvesting rice, it reminded me of an old saying, “every single grain is the fruit of hard work.” I realized planting rice requires tremendous dedication. According to United Nations, the Sustainable Development Goals Report 2021 showed that approximately 70-161 million people were experiencing hunger during the pandemic. Therefore, we should not take everything for granted, whereas people in poor developing countries were often in hunger.

Other than that, the trip also reminded me about the importance of having UGFH1001 In Dialogue in Humanity. Although the contents were retrieved from many well-known famous people, their work was still influencing modern people to a large extent. For instance, when I was walking nearby the beach, waves were hitting the shore, recalling my memories and knowledge in Heart Sutra – “Form is emptiness, emptiness is form”(色即是空,空即是色). Not only objects could demonstrate the idea, but the way how we acted also gave us the inspiration of finding the meaning of life. Thus, I believed that those reflective questions in lectures had a strong relationship with us, arousing my interest in reading more material about philosophy.
